Statement David Cook Fine Art is the most recent addition to our existing antique American Indian gallery in Lower Downtown Denver. Adjacent to the distinguished Denver landmark, the Oxford Hotel, the Fine Art gallery showcases American regional art from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The gallery specializes in Rocky Mountain and early Colorado art including artists affiliated with the Broadmoor Art Academy in Colorado Springs and the Chappell House (forerunner to the Denver Art Museum). The gallery also focuses on New Mexico art including the Santa Fe and Taos schools; California plein-air and impressionism; and other early western American subject matter including Arizona and Utah related material. The style of material is largely modernist, plein-air, impressionist, and abstract.
The gallery's holdings include a wide selection of paintings and watercolors by distinguished artists including Birger Sandzen and Charles Partridge Adams as well as various WPA era and early Colorado prints.
David Cook has been dealing in fine American Indian art and American paintings for twenty years in Denver. As a member of the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA), the gallery is held to a high standard of quality and ethics.
The staff of David Cook Fine Art has over fifty years of combined experience in buying, selling, and appraising fine art. David has a keen sense of the current art market and travels to New York every fall and spring to attend the auctions of the major houses. We are interested in purchasing both individual pieces and entire estates. |
